Easter 2011 celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Bells Easter Contest (1962 - 2011). The history is rich, the surfing is hardcore, the surfers and characters are many and the Bell always rings for the victor. Barrie Sutherland's historic portfolio of images captures Bells and the Contest at its best during the 1960s, from the biggest waves ever seen at Bells to much smaller days. For this special anniversary, WaterMarks Gallery has released a limited edition set of 26 images from Barrie's best-of-the-best Bells photographs. Every print is an exact replication of the original negative. What you see in the print is what Barrie saw through his lens. Printed on fine art cotton rag with edition and registration numbers. There are only 10 prints per image. Editions #1, #2 now selling. Prices for framed 810x550mm prints start at $1200 depending on the image. Some images may be signed by the surfers and will incur an additional fee. Deduct $150 from price for unframed images.
